Mercerized cotton
Mercerization of cotton is a chemical process during which the inner parts of the cotton fiber are exposed. This is done by immersing them in a sodium hydroxide solution. The aim of this is to refine the fabric by dissolving the thin, matte layer that covers the yarn. Cotton subjected to mercerization becomes soft, shiny and much more resistant to creasing.
Length of socks
The length of the socks is designed so that the calf is always covered. When sitting, the trouser leg ends above the ankle or mid-calf (depending on the width and length of the legs). With short socks, there is a fear that during a formal meeting the bare calf will be visible, which is unacceptable in the concept of classic male elegance.
How to choose the color of socks?
The color of socks can be matched in several ways: to match the color of your shoes, to match the color of your pants/suit, or as an element that refers to your tie, pocket square or vest.
